One person was killed and two others were critically injured in a three-vehicle crash Saturday night on Interstate 95 in St. Johns County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to Highway Patrol, an SUV was heading north on I-95 near State Road 206 around 8:15 p.m. when it crossed over the median before colliding with a tractor-trailer traveling south on I-95.
Troopers said a sedan driving behind the tractor-trailer swerved into the oncoming SUV.
According to the Highway Patrol, the driver of the SUV, a 42-year-old St. Augustine woman, and the passenger in the SUV, a 12-year-old St. Augustine girl, suffered critical injuries.
Troopers said the driver of the sedan, a 25-year-old Palm Coast woman, was also critically injured, but the Highway Patrol later said she died at a hospital Sunday morning. The Highway Patrol report shows she was not wearing a seat belt.
