MORE FALLOUT? City Calls Special Meeting To Evaluate City Manager
The City of St. Augustine announced on their website that they will be holding a special meeting focusing solely on an, "Evaluation discussion pertaining to the City Manager." This on the heels of the Public Works Director's abrupt resignation amid our questions into how the city is spending money, and who they're spending it with.
We're encouraging anyone and everyone who can attend to do so and voice their opinions regarding John Regan's performance.
Insiders tell us that Vice Mayor Todd Neville has pushed for this meeting over the last couple of months. Speculation is that this meeting may have been requested in part, to review the bayfront contract issues, which have been in question for over two years now.
Others with connections to the city say it's merely a formality, and that Regan will simply be praised and endorsed by Commissioners.
Will this happen if we continue to see pressure put on city government? It would be hard to imagine, in an election year, that we see every commissioner endorse Regan in the midst of tough questions from the public.
