People have been placing "bets" on how long it will take Ned Pollack, founder of some of St. Augustine's most legendary restaurants, Malaga Street Depot, Gypsy Cab, and Ned's Southside Kitchen, to come back to the kitchen and serve up a smiling crowd again. Well, we won't have to wait much longer.
In a recent interview on my new radio show, The Rant (WFOY 102.1 fm Mondays at 7pm) Ned says he wants to start an online cooking show where himself, and chefs from around town cook specialty dishes for a small audience.
The show is set to start recording later this month or early November, and if you want to find out how you can be part of the small "studio audience" who will get to sample some of Ned and friends' food, you'll have to check in regularly with My 904 and My 904 Rant and Rave, as we will be announcing recording dates there.
Ned also says he is working on a cookbook, which will offer recipes from every restaurant he's opened, and in case you were wondering, YES the famous salad dressing recipe will be included!
