The City of St. Augustine has just installed a new vehicle charger on DeSoto Place near City Hall in an effort to promote clean energy.
This is being touted as "Free and open to the public" however you'll have to pay to park in front of the charger during normal enforcement hours.
The charging station can provide up to 25 miles worth of diving charge. This means you can pay $5.00 to park and charge your car for two hours, and then get 50 miles out of it, or you can just spend that $5.00 at the gas station, get a few more miles and save an hour and 59 minutes worth of time.
The city plans on installing more of these in the future.
Leave it up to COSA to charge money for free things.
