Chief Fox: We Do Not Have a Serial Killer in St. Augustine

January 22, 2020

St. Augustine Police Chief, Barry Fox joined me on The Rant this Tuesday, to update the public on the woman found drowned near oyster creek.

My first question to the Chief, was one that I've been asked most over the last few days, "Do we have a suspected serial killer out here?"

Chief Fox said definitively, "No we do not."

"This appears to be an accidental drowning, but we would like to make sure and wait until some more toxicology reports come back."

Chief Fox says they'll be looking to see if there was anything in the woman's system that may have contributed to her death. He indicated there may have been some age-related factors that may have contributed to what happened, which were discovered during the autopsy.

"She was a homeless woman, she's been homeless in the community for about 20 years," said Fox.

The Chief said he would keep us updated on any major developments.
