Beach Commission Tightens Dune Rules

The City of St. Augustine Beach is strengthening its codes following a homeowner excavating dunes in front of their home.


Brian Law, the city’s director of building and zoning, has been working on an ordinance to make sure this won’t happen again.


He said quote, “We have to protect our city’s identity, and this is how we do it. This is how it begins.” Law, who’s recommended plenty of character destroying options for the city over the years continued, “We put our own little spin on it, and that’s well within our rights,”
