St. Johns County Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Update
The Florida Department of Health reported the first confirmed case of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in St. Johns County on Wednesday, March 11. The travel-related case involves a 63-year-old, male, New York resident who was quarantined and remains isolated until cleared by public health officials.
St. Johns County continues to closely monitor the rapidly evolving situation and remains in constant communication with local healthcare providers and public safety partner agencies, including the Florida Department of Health, as the lead agency, and Flagler Health+. In addition, the County remains in close consultation with the Governor’s Office, the City of St. Augustine, the City of St. Augustine Beach, the St. Johns County School District, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, emergency medical services, and all Constitutional Offices. In the interest of public safety and based on recommendations from the Office of the Governor, all public events scheduled between March 14 through April 1 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall will be canceled or postponed.
Early voting will continue from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 13 and 14 at all six early voting locations. All polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, March 17. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be provided at all voting locations for workers and voters.
