St. Augustine Distillery Distributes Hand Sanitizer, Giving The Money To Kids

March 20, 2020

"Can you drink it?" was the question most people had as they drove up to get their bottle of specially made hand sanitizer from The St. Augustine Distillery this morning.

Owner Philip McDaniel was personally handing out bottles, asking only for donations for local youth services in exchange.

Through the distilling process, the sanitizer is naturally made, and seeing a need in the community, owners stepped in to fill the gap.

The Distillery donated about 200 bottles to the SAPD earlier in the week, and distributed another 250 to the public this morning from their parking lot. They say the parking lot was the best option with the CDC recommending no large gatherings.

Although  they had announced they would be giving away the hand sanitizer at 10am, "The first car pulled up at 8:45" said Matt Stevens, Distillery GM.

The Distillery can only make so many bottles at a time, and while they'll surely run out fairly quickly today, keep up with them on social media to find out when their next batch will be available.
