Local Beaches Will Close To Vehicular Traffic, Remain Open For Residents To Walk
In an attempt to cut down on vehicular traffic to the beaches and help with social distancing, Beach Police Chief Robert Hardwick, in a special meeting announced that all beach gates would be locked on Friday night.
"Beaches will remain open, the public parking lots will remain open, the county parking lots will remain open, however the vehicle access points will be shut down. " Said Chief Hardwick.
Residents can still walk the beaches, but won't have any access to drive starting today.
Chief Hardwick says this is an ever evolving situation, and he wants to make sure the city does what's right for everyone at this time.
