Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit, along with Agents from the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force have arrested an Attempted Murder suspect who was a fugitive from Maryland, and had been previously featured on the show “Live PD”.
In a collaborative effort, both the US Marshals and SJSO Detectives had acquired information on a suspect wanted on nine (9) charges, and may be living in St. Johns County under an assumed name (Alias). The suspect had potentially resided here for several years after fleeing Anne Arundel County in Maryland. The suspect, who was identified as, Ryan James Watson, 30, was wanted on charges of 1st Degree Attempted Murder, 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, Robbery, Various Assault charges, Theft and Reckless Endangerment with Weapon charges.
Investigators established a covert perimeter around the area and launched a drone over the home to surveil any activity.
The suspect, who had been living in SJC under the alias of Sean Riley, exited the home after hearing the hovering drone and after observing that he matched the suspect's description, was secured by members of the team. When asked his name, he provided his alias, but after being called “Ryan”, stated “Ok, you got me”. Watson was arrested and booked into the SJC Jail on Maryland’s authorization to hold for extradition.
Special thanks to our partners at the US Marshals Service for our continued collaborative efforts!
