The Clay County Sheriffs office has confirmed Sunday, the man who drove his car into a home in Saint Johns County, took his own life inside of a home on County Side Road.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office released this statement, “Around 8:30am today, we received a call from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to do a welfare check on a female in the northwest part of our county. Based on the information received, we sent deputies to do the check and made entry into the home where we found a deceased female. We believe this to be a domestic violence incident and related to the active situation in Clay County. Our investigation is underway. We will release further details at the appropriate time.”
Officers attempted to negotiate with the subject for hours, but were unsuccessful.
Clay county sheriff said that multiple gunshots were heard coming from inside the house throughout the day.
It was confirmed that the subject inside the house was not the owner of the home.
There is no description of the suspect at this time.
