Man Charged with Attempted Murder, Battery On K9 After West King Street Shooting




On the evening of March 9 around 8:00 PM, the St. Johns County Sheriffs Office Communication Center received a 911 call from a victim that a known male suspect fired multiple shots into a vehicle they were in, narrowly missing the victims.

Patrol deputies quickly responded, set up a perimeter, and deployed a K9 unit. The K9 unit successfully apprehended the suspect, who was found “cowering” on a porch on a nearby street with the suspected firearm in question, according to the report.

Cedric Grayer was located and arrested for two counts of attempted murder, one count of armed burglary in an occupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, battery against a K9, and armed possession of MDMA.



The St. Johns County sheriffs office would like to thank the immediate action of the community for providing numerous tips which led to the swift apprehension of the suspect
